Biography

I am a PhD candidate in Computer Science at Institute of Computing Technology, Chinese Academy of Sciences since 2008. I am working at Research Group of Distributed and Cloud Computing, and my advisor is Prof. Zhiwei Xu.

I received the Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Beijing Institute of Technology in 2008. I spent my childhood in Yumen, a small oilfield city in northwest China.

Research

My current research interests include distributed systems, grid computing, and cloud computing.

Current work

LingCloud (2009 - ). LingCloud (original name: Vega LingCloud) is a suite of cloud computing system software. It provides a resource single leasing point system for consolidated leasing physical and virtual machines, and supports various heterogeneous application modes including high performance computing, large scale data processing, massive data storage, etc. on shared infrastructure. My work involves the research and development of cloud security management architecture, OS-integrated components, virtual desktop terminal and so on.
CNGrid GOS (2008 - ). CNGrid GOS is the system software for China National Grid, which is supported by the National High-Tech R&D (863) Program of China. It provides functionalities including global naming management, VO management, user management, resource management, application runtime management and so on. My work involves the design and implementation of grid shell environment and command-line utilities, single sign-on with security context, etc.

Past work

Computer chess games (2006 - 2007). AI engines are designed to solve the chess games. I won the Best New Player Award in Chinese chess, 2006 Chinese Computer Games Championship (with co-authors: Ran Gao, Bin Wu, Zhangbin Ying); and the 2nd place in Connect6, 2007 Chinese Computer Games Championship (with co-authors: Shuang Wu, Futai Xu).

Projects

Open Source Software

LingCloud, the cloud computing system software mentioned above, has an open-source release in order to promote the development of cloud computing industry in China and strengthen the communication between academia and industry. It has been certificated as an OpenNebula cloud solution provider. (Apache License v2.0, as a core developer)
BitStronger, a Chinese chess game engine implementing the Universal Chinese Chess Interface (UCCI) for teaching purpose. I won the Best New Player Award in Chinese chess, 2006 Chinese Computer Games Championship by using this program. (GPL v2.0, as the project leader)
Imagoxy, a suite of proxy/cache scripts written in PHP that downloads pictures from a remote server to a local server and relocates the corresponding HTTP requests to the local one. A relative WordPress plugin is available for caching blog pictures. (BSD-style License, as the project leader)
LisTX, a PHP directory indexing page for web hosts that disabled the Indexes option. (GPL v2.0, as a co-developer)
